Abstract
The One Truth: Contextual Absolutism and the Battle for Doctrinal Clarity presents a bold claim: every question in life and theology has exactly one correct answer, even if that truth is complex and difficult to articulate. In an age where relativism dominates cultural discourse and doctrinal disagreement is treated as inevitable, or even desirable, this book challenges both the church, and by extension, the world to return to a biblical and philosophical understanding of truth as singular, objective, and discoverable.
Author L. J. Anderson dismantles the modern myth that conflicting perspectives can all be valid, showing through accessible examples (like the 6-or-9 illusion, the half-empty glass, and even pineapple pizza) that disagreement is often a matter of faulty perception, not competing truths. Drawing from Scripture, logic, and theological reflection, Anderson explains why truth must govern not only our moral and spiritual convictions but our doctrinal formulations as well.
This PDF is pulled from Chapter 8 of The One Truth. It formalizes the model. It is meant to be a short, scholarly view of the model that is fleshed out more accessibly in the rest of the book. The book can be purchased at most retailers and can be requested through one’s local library.
